Are they really doing it for you? Novi home seller tips

We have a local realtor that has radio commercials that say they spend more money on marketing than anybody else.  I totally agree with them.  But they are implying that a seller should go with them because they spend more money on marketing than anybody else. 

Well the problem is that they are marketing THEMSELVES to get listings.  THEY AREN'T SPENDING THAT MONEY ON YOUR HOME'S MARKETING.  That is what it is all about, marketing your home!  Marketing your Novi home is one of the most important facets of selling and closing on it.  So how much money and time will your next agent spend on marketing your home?  These are the questions you should be asking.

Do they:

  1. Put it on multiple websites?  How many personal websites does the agent have?
  2. Does it have its own page on the agents website?
  3. Is it on craigslist?
  4. Will they do a video?
  5. Do they market to areas that will bring you buyers? 
  6. Will it be on youtube?  Facebook?

Bottom line is what are they doing for you and your home?

 It doesn't do you any good when the radio ad just says "I'm spending more on marketing to get your listing".....it matters how much time  and money is going into marketing YOUR HOME.  What are they doing for you?  What are they doing to get your home sold?  Doing a radio ad that says we spend more on marketing than anybody else and doesn't list a bunch of houses for sale is not doing you a bit of good.

Like they said in the movie with Tom Cruise "show me the money"....show me the money you are spending on marketing my house.  Don't let the words fool you on where the money is actually going

I absolutely agree, Russ.  Do they give you personalized service too or are they too busy looking for that next listing? To some, selling houses is just a numbers game and they don't care about the individual trying to sell his or her home.
