Indian Summer in Clarksville TNWhat is Indian Summer? I have heard this term most of my life so I thought it would be wise to see the experts at the Farmers Almanac and get a clearer understanding of the term Indian Summer.

What is Indian Summer? Technically it isn’t Indian Summer in the Mid- Atlantic States unless there has been a stretch of 7 straight days with temperatures at 70 degrees or Fall foliage in Clarksvilleabove. In the Northeastern States these conditions generally happen after the first frost from mid-October to early November. These warm temperatures are usually coupled with dry and hazy conditions. There can be several Indian Summers before real winter sets in.

Indian Summer’s name is somewhat a mystery. Some supposition is that the Early Fall in Claksville TNAmerican Settlers mistook the sunrays coming through the haze as the campfires of the Native Americans. Another theory was that the Native Americans recognized the weather patterns and used this as an opportunity to gather additional food for the winter.

What is Indian Summer? It is an occurrence that not only happens in North America but also in the temperate European countries. Whatever its origin or meaning, it is a wonderful time to enjoy the outside temperatures of fall and the beautiful colors of the season.

Buy Daytona condos for heavenly good prices

Roy - it is a wonderful time of the year. Interestingly, if you translate into English how they call it in Russian, it would be "Broad's Summer" (like in women's summer)
