This is a trendy neighborhood, north of Sunset into the hills, roughly bordered by La Colina to the west and La Brea to the east.  This is a much sought after area with multi-million dollar homes and spectacular views.

2.  Palms – Mar Vista - 101

Palms – Mar Vista are combined in the Multiple Listings Service (MLS).  Palms is the oldest neighborhood in Los Angeles, and together with Mar Vista, one of the more affordable Westside neighborhoods with some of the best views.

That's interesting.  My son just bought a condo in #8 Santa Monica on Main St. a few blocks from the beach.  He got tired of his SF Bay view in the SF Marina.  kids!
