Past Business brings You New Business on Yelp - One of the main points during the Geeky 2.0 Social Series LinkedIn & Yelp class.

If your customers include Generation Y, those 26-35 years old (and it should if you want to continue your real estate business) then you need to be on Yelp. This generation uses Yelp to see what others are saying about restaurants, products and services. This is you! You offer a service and possibly a product as a real estate professional. It is important to have reviews, testimonials and feedback about you available to prospects on this generation.

Customer ReviewsIf you are working with this age group or another that is not familiar with Yelp, you can teach them. When you have a few minutes in the car with them, that could be a perfect time to bring up the topic of Yelp. Find out if they are familiar with it, if yes ask them for a review. If they are not, offer to help them use it and have the example be a review of the experience they had working with you.

It may seem like a daunting task to gather reviews but you might be surprised how many people want to talk about how great you are. All it takes is a request on your part and possibly a review in return for your friend, colleague or client.

Past Business brings You New Business on Yelp using the tools below. They can help get those reviews rolling in:

  • Extend Your Sphere - People you already work with and interact with
    • Through your email address book
    • Connect through Facebook
    • Send invitations to a select group

IMSD Community Manager, Chad Hyams tells you how to get things started in the short clip below

Past Business brings You New Business on Yelp if you make yourself available to prospects with a profile and honest reviews from people that know you or have worked with you. These reviews will tell them what you are like to work with and if it would be a good fit.
