Past Business brings You New Business on Yelp - One of the main points during the Geeky 2.0 Social Series LinkedIn & Yelp class.
If your customers include Generation Y, those 26-35 years old (and it should if you want to continue your real estate business) then you need to be on Yelp. This generation uses Yelp to see what others are saying about restaurants, products and services. This is you! You offer a service and possibly a product as a real estate professional. It is important to have reviews, testimonials and feedback about you available to prospects on this generation.
If you are working with this age group or another that is not familiar with Yelp, you can teach them. When you have a few minutes in the car with them, that could be a perfect time to bring up the topic of Yelp. Find out if they are familiar with it, if yes ask them for a review. If they are not, offer to help them use it and have the example be a review of the experience they had working with you.
It may seem like a daunting task to gather reviews but you might be surprised how many people want to talk about how great you are. All it takes is a request on your part and possibly a review in return for your friend, colleague or client.
