Volunteer Opportunities for Thanksgiving in Atlanta
Thanksgiving is all about taking a day to appreciate what you have and many people feel inspired to share what they have with others over the Thanksgiving holiday. In the city of Atlanta, Hosea Feed the Hungry is the largest and most well-known organization that not only feeds the hungry, but also gives the other items they urgently need such as coats and haircuts. However, because so many people volunteer on Thanksgiving Day, the greatest need for organizations like Hosea Feed the Hungry is for other days over the holiday season.
If you feel the urge to share your bounty this Thanksgiving, there are plenty of ways to help out throughout November and December with donations, preparing food or even donating your skills in areas like marketing or fundraising. And Hosea Feed the Hungry is not the only organization out there in need. In the city of Atlanta, there are several homeless shelters and soup kitchens that also need help. If you live in the metro-Atlanta suburbs, many counties have senior services that deliver food to the elderly, not just on Thanksgiving, but every day.
