I've got many reasons to say, "I'm blessed."
Today's reason is my daughter, who is now a missionary in Ghana. She arrived last week, and as you can see, she is happy and already enjoying her stay. She will be there for seven months, if all goes as planned.
It's not easy to accept that your child is grown-up enough to head across the world alone, much less be gone for the better part of a year. I came up with lots of reasons why she needed to stay home. But in the end, I realized that she longed to be there and to serve. This is her time to give everything of herself to a world that needs love.
It's not easy to release her - to open our hands and let her take off around the globe. But she is trusting God to put her where He wants her, and we are trusting God to take care of her and bring her home safely.
Today, I'm blessed because I have a child who wants to show love to others. I'm sharing her, reluctantly, but with a smile and a full heart.
I hope your day is full of blessings, too.
