Educating Yourself on Proposed Amendments

On November 6 (and before in cases of early voting), American citizens will head to the polls to vote for for the next President. In FL, we will also be voting on 11 proposed amendmnets to our Florida Constitution.

The League of Women Voters of Broward county partnered with the Broward County Library to educate voters on the issues. The League is a non-partisan political organization that doesn't support or oppose any political party or candidate. Whether you use the League of Women Voters as your source, or anyone else, be sure to educate yourself on the issues and the candidates.

I also want to mention something really great that the Broward Supervisor of Elections did this election season...she sent out a mailer with all the proposed amendments and candidates weeks ahead of the election date. That way, we all have an opportunity to read everything over and do some research, instead of standing in the voting booth and guessing or leaving things blank. I know that of course we can go do our own research and find out who's on the ballot and what the proposed amendments are, but I think the mailer is really convenient, and very much appreciated having that at my fingertips.

PLEASE VOTE!

The voting lines in Palm Beach County are very long, it looks like the voters are not reading ballets before they get to the poles.

Good luck and success.

Very good information Patty.  Lets all get out and vote.  Personally I don't think we're going to have a President before the end of the week but thats ok too as long as we make outselves clear.

Patty: Every election is important and an opportunity for folks to cast their vote regardless how they vote... but should vote.  Our country has many issues; and folks should take time to study these issues carefully.

Carl and I voted early here in Comal County TX. Working folks have limited time before and after work on November 6...maybe with early voters the lines won't be as long.

Patty,

The amendments are intentionally worded to mislead and confuse. :)

Marianna, sure is.

Alexandra, same here in FL. I believe that’s part of the reason we have 7 hour lines to vote early.

Kathy, I  thought those mailers were smart. At the very least, it reminded people to look into what they’re voting on.

Lou, exactly! It’s ridiculous how long these lines are.

Chris and Dick, agreed! Hopefully it all goes smoothly.

Ceil, I don’t know what it’ll look like tomorrow, but our early voting lines have been a nightmare down here. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Steve, they sure are! The League of Women Voter’s site is actually helpful.
