For a number of years, I've had the pleasure of people wanting to show me cool ideas (or at least ideas they think are cool, who am I to judge?). Anyone in their right mind, when sharing a cool idea is going to have you sign a NDA, or non-disclosure agreement. I've only actually seen half of these ideas. Why? Because the process of receiving an email, printing out the attachment, signing it, then scanning it back in and emailing the signed NDA back is kind of a pain. Most of the time, I'm not anywhere near a printer or scanner and if I am, I don't have the patience to try to figure out how to connect them to my computer. I swore off printers some time ago.
(that could very easily be me in the picture. I loathe printers.....not really because they represent wasted paper, although they do mostly, as much as they represent SOOOO much frustration! In 20 years I can't remember once connecting to a printer where I didn't end up feeling like this guy)
Every day in our lives, there is someone needing our signature. Of course, in real estate you probably deal with 100 times as many signatures as the average person. But what about in your personal life? Do you ever find yourself wishing 'Can't they just send this to me via electronic signature?'
If you use DocuSign for your business, you probably wish that every time you have to jump through the hoops to return a signed document to someone.
For this month's ActiveRain/Docusign challenge, we want you to share with us something in your personal life that would be made easier if the person asking you to sign was using electronic signatures. Maybe it's your bank, or your lawyer, or your accountant, or your landlord or your child's school or your bookie (wait, do bookies use contracts?)
The Challenge:
**Write a blog post sharing something in your personal life that would be easier if you could use electronic signatures. Share a story of the hassle of jumping through the hoops to get a document signed.
**In order to submit your post, place a link to your post in the comment section of this blog post.
**Posts must be submitted by November 30th at 11:59pm Pacific time in order to qualify for points and prizes
**Posts must be 300 words to qualify
The Prizes:
Every post submitted for the contest will be worth 2000 ActiveRain points
We will randomly draw 6 posts from all the entries to win a $50 gift card. Anyone that tweets their post to @DocuSign using the #paperless hashtag will get an additional entry in the drawing to win one of the $50 giftcards.
We can't force you to post to their Facebook page, but we will also give you an extra entry in the drawing if you post your blog post on the DocuSign Facebook page.
