High Desert is one of Albuquerque's most popular neighborhoods. Located in the far northeast corner of Albuquerque, High Desert is one of four foothills neighborhoods.
Appropriately named, at 6,000 feet above sea level, High Desert is actually one of the highest neighborhoods in Albuquerque. High Desert features outstanding views of the Sandia Mountains and features undisturbed, natural New Mexico terrain.
An Albuquerque Master Planned Community, High Desert is comprised of over 20 smaller subdivisions including Desert Highlands, The Enclave, The Legends, The Overlook and Wilderness Compound to name just a few. Each one of these subdivisions has its own character and appeal. There is a nice mixture of properties in these neighborhoods from the more expensive custom homes on large lots to less expensive homes on smaller lots.
