Use of Color in a Lake Havasu Home Sale

How you use color in your Lake Havasu home can either help or hurt you sell it. Get your Lake Havasu home staging tips here.Color can be a Lake Havasu home seller's best friend or their worst enemy.  Avocado green appliances with mustard yellow walls and orange shag carpet wasn't even fashionable in the 70's.  They certainly are NOT a selling point for today's buyer, even if you have an outstanding home otherwise.  On the flip side, the use of color in a Lake Havasu home sale can increase its appeal, as long as you use it wisely.

White walls are out.  Most professional home stagers agree that neutral colors appeal to the widest audience.  However, "neutral" doesn't just mean varying shades of brown.  Lake Havasu homeowners will be happy to hear that neutral can be everything from gray to yellow as well as the whole family of browns.

Whatever color scheme you decide on, keep the theme going into other areas of your Havasu home.  This includes updates.  If you've decided to pull up the carpet and lay down floor tile, keep it in the mid-range color for browns.  Bleached or deep, dark colors can keep some segments of the buying public away.  Also, if you are using a lighter tone for your living room, you won't want to use a dark slate color in the kitchen or it will throw off the aesthetic of the entire home.

Keeping the canvas neutral doesn't mean you can't play with color elsewhere.  Brightly colored throw pillows, vases, pictures and other accessories can add that pop of color to make a room more interesting without committing to the color to an entire wall.

The use of color in a Lake Havasu home sale can help or it can hurt, depending on how you implement it.  Keep these simple tips in mind when staging your home.  If you have any questions or are ready to put your home on the market, just give us a call.

Very true - color can certainly be a seller's best friend or worst enemy.  Always sad to see tacky mismatched colors in a home.

Color certainly has an impact on the first overall impression..... unless the house is "clutter-chaotic" & dirty... then of course all the attention goes to that....
