Networking

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

Hello Fellow Realtors:

Do you enjoy networking?  Are you looking for innovative ideas to get your word out?  Have you ever looked into Meetup.com?  As a Realtor, I use this website to help expand my networking.  Meetup.com is a website where you can find any type of interest that you could think of.  Do you like reading, meeting people, wine tasting, and my favorite, real estate investing and entrepreneurship.  Through meetup.com you can attend meetings almost every week.  There are groups throughout the US.  I have joined about eight groups from working women groups, wine tasting, to entrepreneurship.  Through meetup.com I have already expanded my networking into many more industries that I would not have had access to otherwise.  You can use this site to enrich not only your personal life but also your professional life.

Now, why am I telling you this?  I have no vested interest in this group.  I, personally, have found some really great business potential and have met some really intersting people from all different walks of life and just wanted to share this information.  Try it out and let me know what you think.

2008 is going to be great!

Hi Arlene, I'll check meetup.com ... but good heavens, there are so many sites out there it is hard to know what to follow through on.  Between blogging on my own blogging website, plus AR, and all my other 'faces' on the social network out there, I'm running out of time!  Thank you for the info.

Arlene,

Meetup.com is in fact an excellent resource!!! If you can develop your own Group, it's a great way to get exposure.

Hi Arlene - Too often with blogging and online social networks it's easy to get so caught up with virtual networking that we forget our local market areas. Meetup.com sounds like a great tool to alleviate this. Thanks for the tip!

Not knowing what is dating and just socializing, I would never have explored this site. Thanks for the heads-up Arlene.

I hope that some of you have had a chance to check out meetup.com and have found it interesting.

Ricardo, you are right.  I am still trying to figure out what group I can start.  There are so many already out there.

Suzie:  I know, I spend alot of time on the computer, and; John, it is hard finding the balance between networking in person or online.  Sometimes I have to force myself to get out there and just use old fashion shoe leather.  If you read my previous blog, you will know exactly what I mean.

Best of wishes and remember:  2008 is going to be great!
