NO Response from TREC after a week. License expiring 1 year instead of 2.

Has anyone ever taken their 15 hours of MCE one year and then the next their license is due to expire?  That is what is going on with me.  I have sent TREC an email twice now with no response.  I know that they are shorthanded down there.

Maybe this has to do with every agent being fingerprinted.  Not sure but if there is any insight that someone can give I would appreciate it.  My license does not expire until June, but if I need to take classes then I will have to start trying to schedule them.  Thanks.

Ryan, Sorry I'm trying to figure out what is happening.  You should only have to renew your license every 2 years.  And it shouldn't matter when you take your MCE as long as you take your 15 hours within those 2 years.  Have you logged in TREC online to check what hours they have reported for you?

Yes, it shows the 15 hours that I took in 2007.  I just can't get a response from TREC?  I have a few monthes to figure it out.  Thanks for the reply

My license expires at the end March and they sent me a postcard at the beginning of January telling me exactly how many hours that I had taken and what I still needed.  So, if you can't get an answer from TREC, you should get this postcard.

Okay... I finally got through to TREC and your not going to believe what I was told.  They stated I had a late renewal this last year and that because of that, I will have to take another 15 hours this year.  Now I did renew late.  Here is why.  I took my MCE hours like a good realtor before my license expired.  But I started with a new broker in 2007 and he stated he would pick up all license cost, MLS, annual dues and such.  Well he did not pick up my MCE renewal.  So when my license showed up as inactive the day after it expired I called TREC and they stated I had not paid yet.  Well I talked with my broker and he stated he does not pay for that, he only covers all the quarterly dues.

Lesson learned I guess.  But here is what bothers me about TREC.  I had to pay extra for a late renewal which was only two days after my license actually expired, and you would think that paying extra would bring you current on everything.  I mean I took all my 15 hours before my license expired so why are they making me take the hours again?  REALLY frustrating....

If anyone has any input on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like a bad deal but not sure there is anything you can do.  TREC controls us all.  I guess get ready for another 15 hours of MCE.......
