What if there is a tie in the Presidential voting?

The votes are being tabulated as I type this, the outcome of the election has not yet been decided.  I voted and have no interest in following the state by state reporting, so I will drink a glass of wine (or more) and sit in my hot tub for a while and then hit the bed as I have a early wake up at 5:30 AM tomorrow morning.  The news as I drive to my early appointment will give me what I need to know!

But, what if there is a tie in the Electoral College voting?  Many may not be aware, but the people's majority vote for one candidate or the other does not necessarily decide the outcome of the election.  Some states have more "weight" than others! That's where the Electoral College comes into play.  But, if there is a tie, then the final outcome could be one party is President and the other party holds the Vice-Presidency!

Only in America, but then many other country's have worse scenario's; but to many to talk about here!

A good read on what might happen in a tie of the Electoral votes is:

What if Electoral College ends in a tie?

This is a link to a Christian Science Monitor article that very accurately describes the scenarios that come into play should the Electoral College and not the popular vote elect our next President.

Whatever the outcome, I voted and am peace with the outcome.  Hopefully whichever candidate wins will begin to bring together our nation, instead of the current divide that exists between Democrats and Republicans!

Steven, as I write this comment, CNN has projected that President Obama wins the re-election. Let's hope next 4 years show real real estate growth.
