It looks beautiful Debbie.  I wish I had a bike/walking trail near me.  Oh and I finally got my pancakes the other night.  It was an adventure, but I got them.

Tammy...it sounds like you traveled half your state for a pancake dinner. I loved your blog on this and how you related it to business. Have a great night, and it looks like I will only be posting one more food blog this week, so you've been warned. It's for the AR Recipe Book, and this is something you can only get at home when you make it.

William...if you ever get out my way, we'll go there. I know a few places to wet a line and drown a few flies or worms.

Hi, Juli...I'm blushing, but really I do love this area. Thanks for your nice comment. When I first moved to the Western Slope in 1989, I had bigger plans. I was going to spend some time here and move on to other things, like teaching college and forwarding my broadcasting career. I was very young and on a fast track to success in my life. Or at least what the people around me considered success. I just needed to slow down for a minute. This was just a temporary resting place. Well I'm still here. I'm raising my family here, and I love it.

You do have to admit this blog looks good from a setup standpoint. That is all due to what I learned in the Blogging Boot Classes put on by AR. I use to struggle with placing pictures and getting my text to work correctly, but the Blogging Boot Camp got me in line, so to speak, and everything became so much easier. If you haven't attended one of these webinars, you must. Also check out the AR University sessions that are recorded.

Debbie, this all looks so inviting.  The thing I like best about what I hear and see on your post is probably a very simple part of it.  And it's all in the first picture.

The bridge, and the stream below, with the little bit of "white water" where the stream is running over some apparently almost submerged rocks.  I love the sound of that.

I'd love to be there about an hour before sunset some day, and just be able to watch and listen.  Sounds so peaceful and serene to me.

You live in a truly Blessed place.

Hi, Karen Anne...If you lived in Montrose, CO, you could just park your car and walk a few hundred feet and stand on this bridge and enjoy all you talked about. Normally the water runs higher and a bit faster for more stream sound effect, but the drought is still taking a toll on us and our water levels.

My drinking water still taste funny. I'm thinking about buying a filter for my tap. I never would have had to think that before, but this drought is killing us. Normally our drinking water is the best in the world. I would stand behind that...because it comes right off our Grand Mesa with only the minimal amount of treatment needed and tastes great...plain and simple.
