That Happened...That Really Happened, A Brilliant Post Election Litany

Heck, Mona... you can even give me a full one-minute commercial.  That would be fine.

Yes, Rachel Maddow IS special.  And she is incredibly bright.  And, as you said, guests who come on her show do NOT have to worry about "gotcha" moments, so she gets more guests who are either conservatives or Republicans than many of the other shows... and simply "discussed" subjects.  What a concept.

Tonight I watched her show, and as usual, she was brilliant.  And... gulp... even Ed Schultz is growing on me.  He "hangs" with lots of middle America folks, and is very much a battle it out in the trenches kind of guy.  And... since Rachel always follows the Ed Show... I very much enjoy the back and forth between Ed and Rachel as he ends his show, and turns over the airwaves to Rachel.

I am so thrilled with the outcome of Tuesday's election.  And, the fact that President Obama won EIGHT of the NINE "battleground" states just thrills me even more.  He won every one of them except for some nameless state just north of South Carolina, and just south of Virginia.  To quote the great Red State Texan Rick Perry... Ooops.

Yayyyy Rachel!

PS... try taping Morning Joe... from 6am to 9am Eastern Time... and get to know Mika Brzezinski.  I just KNOW you will like her as well.

Great blog Mona, I am glad that you are happy with the results, I worry about the great divide in our country right now, hopefully we can all get past these differences and start working toward the best solutions for everyone.

Also thanks for the Rachel Maddow recommendation, I will watch her.

Good morning Mona. I appreciate and agree with your viewpoint and missed Wednesday's show with Rachel so it was terrific experiencing it here. It did happen and it was great. Reality is a good place to be in: it may be tough but always beats fantasy in my view.

It was a good night and restores some of my hope for a more enlightened world.  I am puzzled about the apparent turn around since 2010 and question its stability.  The passage by voters for marriage equality, legalization of MJ as a controlled substance, and the ousting of avowed women haters do appear to be an indication of a coming paradigm sift but only time will till if the tread continues.  I hope it will. 

Rachael may be the best that mainstream media has to offer up for broadcast news but that still does not set the bar too terribly high.  Her broadcasts are as divisive as any of the others and, though, what she reports is mostly accurate, the voids in the reporting of vitally important information are enormous.  If she reported real news and told the whole story she would not have a job at MSNBC or any other mainstream outlet. 

Our mainstream media is not there to inform or enlighten, it is there to propagandize.  Rachel's enthusiastic support in the clip you shared for the two party (duopoly) is a more than telling example.  Our choice every election cycle, which she will never point out, is the duopoly or nothing.  When it comes down to it our choices are a bit like the hens being given the choice for the fox or the weasel to be in charge of the hen house.   Doesn't really matter much to anyone, except maybe to the fox or the weasel.  

Mona, I am very happy with the Presidential results.  That other guy just plain scared me!

I missed this episode of Rachel!  Thank you for sharing...I have goosebumps!

Whether Allen yells or not, I dig Maddow.  Smart gal.  Idealistic, yes.  Fair, I think.  Intelligent, no doubt.
