Bogus Leads on My Point2Agent site :(

By
Real Estate Agent

I have had a P2A site for about 2 months.  I am now seeing a few of these scam emails where the person pretends to be a welathy investor from a foreign country who "needs your help" investing several million dollars and in return, you get X percent back.  Is there a way to stop or report these to someone?  Also, the people advertising their help as transaction coordinators and the like.  Should I just e-mail back or ignore?

Another question I  have is for veterans of P2A.   How long did you have your site before you got a solid lead?  I am getting a little traffic but no real leads, just the junk mentioned above.  Are there some things that could be tweaked to drive more people to become a lead, not just a visitor?

Any comments or tips will be appreciated.

Alex - Conversion rates for web leads average 1-2% industry wide....  so I would assess how well it's working for you once you've received over a 100 leads total.

I get at least 1 or 2 emails like that a week.

There's really nothing you can do besides delete them and don't give them your address, phone number, or bank account number.

I believe Point2Agent websites are pretty customizable features. In order to induce people to contact you there needs to be a reason.

Here's a P2A site one of my real estate buds in Canada did: http://www.allmiltonhomes.com/

Lots of reasons there for prospective buyers & sellers to contact Chris.

Suzanne- Thanks for that stat.

Jim- Thanks. I need to give them more reasons on my site for sure.

Alex,

I wouldn't spend anytime with a follow up email.  You have more valuable things to do with your time.  My website is paying for itself now.  I had to make up my mind to make it more useful, friendly, and beneficial to me.

Any advertising you do is going to take time before you can actually start tracking the results.  From what I've seen from other companies, point2 is the best bet!

If you need any help or suggestions just email me.

Alex,

Been up about 6 mos. First real leads but these are hard fought after organic search leads - no ppc advertising. We are actually seeing more leads from our website than from realtor.com which has been so great in the past. Have had no scam prospects have great spam filter through internet crusade. Hope this has been helpful.

Another point to add...

Make sure you get a domain name (for your personal website)  and link it to your P2Agent site. Next, make sure you include this domain name on every piece of your marketing materials. It does take time, but remember you should track your results for at least 12 months before deciding whether they have been successful or not.

My domain name/website address for my P2Agent site is: www.jaclynworks4u.com

Feel free to visit my site. I am still adding additional info and working on my site.

Great subject - I actually wrote P2A and asked them how someone would get my address for them - they wrote back and said they do not give it out.  Spam gets through everywhere!  You just can "inactivate" them - that's what I do.

I agree - it takes a few months to get up there in the search engines for John Q Public to see - but put your domain name on everything - get people pointed to your site, and clicking on it, and the leads will come.

I work with Point2Agent for some of my clients - I would be happy to help you with issues anytime.
