NACA is having its American Dream event this weekend in Atlanta. This event is for homebuyers and homeowners. NACA is known for helping struggling homeowners to modify their home loans. They are also known for helping potential homeowners with challenged credit to purchase homes. This event draws 1,000's of people each time it is held in Atlanta. I work with a lot of buyers who have used NACA to purchase a home. Currently NACA's interest rate is 3.375% for all of its members. (fixed 30 year rate as of 11/9/12) No minimum credit score is required. NACA pays all of the closing cost and the Down payment. There are some cost involved for each member but it is best to attend a class so they can explain the cost for each member.
Home Buyers
NACA works with potential home-buyers to get them "ready" to purchase a home. Each potential home buyer must attend a workshop and then they are given an appointment to meet with one of the counselors at the NACA office in Decatur. This process can take from 3 months to 2 years depending on how motivated the home buyer is and how ready the person is to buy a home. NACA does not require perfect credit but you must be currently paying all of your bills on time and be prepared to write a letter if you fall behind on any of your bills. I love NACA because with them anyone can buy a home. However it may take some longer to buy a home because they are not ready. When a potential member become NACA qualified then NACA gives them 90 days to find a home. They can work with one of the in house real estate agents or they can work with a Realtor of their choice. Please make sure that your agent is familiar with NACA or this will delay the process. NACA has several steps that must be followed in order to close with them. NACA pays the Down payment and the closing cost for all of its members.
The Process
The process to buy a home through NACA can be a difficult process. I was told a long time ago that "anything worth having is work working for" If you want to buy a home and you do not have a high credit score then it is harder to buy a home. NACA can help you to become a homeowner. I believe that this process weeds out the people that really don't want to be a homeowner. Some of us are content with renting something our whole lives.
