Green Cleaning Tip: Don't Donate "Trashed" Clothes - Do This Instead

As seasons change, many of us are sorting through clothes and deciding what to donate.

As you do your sorting, it's very likely you will come across clothing that has clearly seen better days. You hate to throw them away, but you know you are doing a disserve by donating clothing in this condition.

Here's a solution that is effective and green - instead of throwing the clothes away, convert them to cleaning rags!

Cut them into hand-towel sized squares (or larger) and use them to clean or dust. While I do not recommend using them to wash dishes, these rags are perfect for really dirty jobs such as cleaning up or soaking pet spills on your carpet. Once you've used them once, feel free to throw them away since they've served their purpose.

Clothes that are not in good shape will probably be thrown away by the charity if you donate them anyway, so save some trees by not using paper towels and putting those old clothes to good use.
