What do you love about Gulfstream? We love living in Gulfstream. It is small, stable, very safe (with a great police department) with a predictable future. The town has a magnificent canopy of Australian Pine trees along historical A1A. It is small in size with a population of 928. The tax rate is a low 3.1. It is conveniently located near Delray Beach with amazing shops and restaurants and 15 minute ride to the Palm Beach International Airport.
If you are in the neighborhood, what are the great things to do?
Our neighborhood is Americana. It has a very low keyed Homeowner Association at an annual fee of $165. We have an annual party to "Meet your Neighbors", Newsletters that are routinely dispersed with up to date on "What's happening" and opinions and suggestions are heard. The neighborhood has approximately 88-90 homes with a guard shack at the entrance. We have 24 hour video surveillance.
What are some of your favorite restaurants?
Here are a few of our favorite restaurants around town. We like 32 East in Downtown Delray Beach, Boston's on the Beach in Delray Beach. A little quite one, hidden in a shopping mall, Il Girasole. We also like Josie's Neighborhood Bar and Restaurant in Boynton Beach. We also love Taboos in Palm Beach.
What do you enjoy shopping for groceries?
We love to shop at Publix which was completely rebuilt this year. It is less than 5 minutes away. We also have a brand new Walmart that is a neighborhood store and is minutes away. Recently we have a new organic store, Marios, about 4 minutes away.
What are some of the key points about the property that you were drawn to?
We were drawn to the point lot on the intra-coastal. Seeing the beautiful sunrises, the manicured Golf Course and the beauty of all of nature on the waterway. Driving through the arched entrance, gave us the feeling of being on our own private island. The continuous south Bahama breezes make it perfect for outside dining.
Are their any great schools in the area?
Gulfstream School which is preschool thru 8th grade, St. Andrews and Pope John Paul High School in Boca Raton are great private school options. There are great public schools too.
Why should someone move to this area?
Gulfstream is conveniently located. It provides easy and timely access to I-95, Palm Beach International Airport and cosmopolitan cities of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Palm Beach. The ocean is a 5 minute drive away.
Anything else you think of to share to the new homeowner?
We enjoy tuning the outside world on and off. We enjoy areas of seclusion during numerous activities, such as swimming, group conversation or reading a book on the porch.. In December we've had many dinner parties following the annual Boat Parade which usually has 30-35 boats.
What are your interests and hobbies near your home?
We enjoy tennis and a walk on the beach at the Ocean Club. Both us use the gym there as well. There are yoga classes at Yoga Sol, pilates at Avenue Pilates and interacting with members of The Manalapan Yacht Club.
What are the average utility costs?
We use Florida Power & Light. Our bills are higher in the summer due to the a/c. The house has a 2 zone a/c system. The summer bills are around $350 per month. the rest of the year they run around $250 per month.
