MUSIC MONDAYS - OPPA LIPA STYLE (A PARODY OF PSY'S GANGNAM STYLE video)

This parody of Psy's Gangnam Style video is quite funny but, I could easily see how it would be quite a bit less hysterical if I were one of the ones still struggling without power, a full two weeks after Hurricane Sandy hit.

As a Youtube commenter observed, the intended audience does not even have the option of watching the parody yet but, it's interesting to note how experiences best meant to fade away from our memories will continue to stay fresh with the help of video.

Good morning Jill. I clicked on the video but there was no sound. Oh well, did I miss something? My volume is up?

I hear you about some folks not seeing the humor in it - yet. But, in my book, it always helps to see the humor in life. :) Hopefully, once the power returns...

Take care Jill.

Good Morning Jill: Capturing the moment via still shot or video is the best way to go back and revisit it.

Debb - With enough distance, the most excrutiating times can make for funny stories.

Maria - I just wonder if that will interfere with the healing?

I loved it.  Anyone who has ever lost power can relate to it.  The little boy is adorable!

Hi Jill: Very funny!  I am not familiar with the song that was being parodied, but it wasn't necessary to know it to laugh along with the lyrics.  I agree with Sharon, too- that kid made the video.  Thanks for sharing!  :)

Hi Jill, probably no one regrets the lag time of getting power back to people more than the line workers.  This was a good parody.

I know they've taken quite a beating in the media for their delay in getting things back to normal in a timely fashion but, honestly, it's with good reason. Those who still have no heat, hot water, lights or proper bathroom facilities to use, all these weeks later, are suffering. I can assure you that plastic garbage bags get old fast, for those who need them and those who have to dispose of them. It's a no-win situation all the way around.
