Newbie to Active Rain

By
Real Estate Agent with John L. Scott

Hello,

I have just joined Active Rain and not familiar with blogging. I am trying to increase my exposure and reach out to potential clients. I have had my license for 6 months now. Does anyone have some advice for me and can you make any recommendations about blogs?  Thanks.

Linda, check out the Newbie Group - there are great posts there to help you get started with your blog.  There is also a group for Real Estate Rookies that you might like.  As far as blogging....read, read, read, comment on others posts and keep your consumer in mind.  I wish you much success here in the Rain!

Linda,

As a new blogger myself, I was a bit nervous about ActiveRain and how it could help me.  This place is awesome! I have learned more in the past 3 days than I had in the previous 3 months!  It is a perfect forum for new Agents, because it is laid back and nobody will judge your lack of knowledge. There are no stupid questions here.  Good luck!

We all learn from keeping an open mind while reading blogs from others.

I especially like to keep up to date on the blogs in my area, Va.

Welcome a aboard.

Hi Linda...

The best advice I can offer you is..

1. This link (CLICK HERE) it will take you to the AR Community Support Page. It's a work in progress so you may want to bookmark it. If you have a question odds are good someone has Blogged it already :)

2. My next bit of advice is...Don't get involved with the AR politics. Blog and let Blog :)

Good Luck and Enjoy the Rain Ride. It's a whole lot of FUN and quite rewarding when you keep it in perspective :)

TLW...ROAR!

Welcome Linda, What I'd recommend is to read as many other people's blogs to get an idea of what type of information we are providing.  Personally, I write from the heart so my blogs are on a wide range of topics from TV shows to ways to stay positive.  I ONLY read positive posts, not the negative ones.  You will do fine.  Every topic is a good topic.  Write about what you know.
