Real Estate Pictures You Can Use

I love when I find useful online tools, I love it much more when those tools are free.  I discovered an online tool a few days ago that I feel has tremendous use for the real estate professional, and that can make your photography for real estate much more interactive- thinglink.com.  Thinglink allows you to upload a photo - in this case we're going to assume one of your listings - and then embed links within the photo that, when the photo is hovered over with your computer screen cursor, show up on the picture as various icons.

My initial thoughts on using this tool is that it's very simple and user friendly.  You do have to embed the finished photo via HTML code into your desired destination, but that's as easy as clicking an "embed this photo" button that Thinglink automatically adds to every picture and then entering the HTML editor screen of your blog/website (like Activerain has in their tool bar when you're adding a blog piece here).  The functionality of Thinglink is tremendous and I've been thinking of all the various links that I could add to a photo - link to that property's page on your website, link to a Google Map showing the property's location in your town, links to your various social media accounts, etc.  You can click on the photo above to see how I put Thinglink into action on our team's website.  I'd love to hear from other agents or marketing folks to see if you have any fresh ideas for using this tool.

Going to check this out right now. Interested to see what icons show on the photo. In Google Chrome, I'm not getting any icons on the photo, but I will play with it on the website and see what I can come up with.

I actually clicked on the photo in this blog and it took me to your website where I could see ThingLink in action. That is pretty sweet. A great way to keep folks on your site.

Yeah, that's the only thing I've noticed so far, is that it doesn't seem to work on here or on Craigslist, which isn't super helpful, but I know you can use it on Facebook and apparently your personal websites also.

Hi Jason, it would be even better if it opened the links in new windows. Does it have that capability? That is pretty cool and the links stand out without affecting picture quality. Thanks!

Yeah, Lynda, that's one of the drawbacks I've seen along with not really working on Activerain or Craigslist, but I figure if you can use it on your website, that's good...then you just need to give folks a reason to come to your website.  I'm playing with it in my spare time and seeing what all applications it could be used for as far as real estate is concerned.
