Brunswick Beacon Celebrating 50-Year Anniversary with Open House

Our local community newspaper, The Brunswick Beacon is celebrating it's 50 year anniversary with an Open House scheduled for November 15 th, Thursday.

The staff of the Brunswick Beacon will be hosting the celebration with a brief ceremony at 4:15 pm.

Visitors are welcome between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

The office is located at 208 Smith Avenue in Shallotte.

Local bluegrass entertainers will provide music for visitors. Enjoy viewing old newspapers and photos from the past 50 years. It will be interesting to see the changes over the years in the paper's quality of stories, design, photography and advertising.

Staff will be present to meet as well as past employees. Numerous awards the staff has won over the past 50 years will be on display for the public to see.

Refreshments and cake will be provided as part of the celebration.
