Docusign Helped me Today….How Else Can it help??
When we need documents executed (ok, SIGNED-LOL), we frequently need two sets of signatures…a buyer and a seller….or a Plaintiff and Defendant. Many of these individuals do not know about Docusign. There is a lot of publicity for this wonderful product in real estate, legal, accounting professions. However, many/most individuals are not familiar with the service. Consequently, they are not comfortable utilizing it or they feel that it is not legally binding. Sometimes they mistakenly believe that they still have to print and forward the “originals”. In such cases, they do not see the benefit of it.
So, I would like to see Docusign market itself to individuals. The valuable service is not beneficial if people are not willing to utilize it. The situation is that many believe that the service is “too good to be true” or that it does not save time if you still have to print, scan, fax or mail the originals.
Today, I had clients who were hesitant to sign in this manner. They are originally from Italy and they prefer to do things the “old fashioned way”. Since I am currently 2,000+ miles from them, the “old fashioned way” would not work. They reluctantly agreed to sign the documents with Docusign but it took some well-placed coddling and some Irish charm (yes, there is still some charm even after the election – LOL).
About an hour later, the clients’ daughter called. Apparently, the father was excited that he utilized technology and he was astounded at how easy it was to use!! This is a gentleman that believes email is a letter from the post office that was sent by someone whose last name begins with the letter “e”!!! Praise, be..we have another convert to this awesome service!! Since I have a lot of documents (in the future) for them to sign..er ugh…EXECUTE, I am a happy boy too!!
