When Does Time become more important than Money?
The old attage that time is money is never more true than in this changing real estate market. The active full time real estate agent needs to ask this question at the time of listing a property. When does time become more important than money? As an agent who works expired listings, I am asking this question all the time. Once the client is finished character assasinating the previous agent we can the move on to the business at hand. I wonder how many expireds there would be if the original agents posed this question right out of the gate. When does time become more important than money? We all know that when we are ready to move on any project ...we are ready to move and the emotional disappointment when that does not happen can cause great grief and regret. How many of us have gone on appointments where the regret and remorse are so thick you could cut it with a knife? People who have made a decision to move need to hear that the days of "testing the market" are over. That every offer is a conversation starter and should not be considered insulting or embarrassing. Supply and Demand dictates that Time has now become more important than money. Our job is to help people move... Don't pie in the sky your clients...ask those difficult questions right out of the gate... Who cares if you don't get the listing... the sellers may be a night mare to work with if you can't get what you want out of them at the listing appointment. You time is also valuable...and we certainly don't need any more psychic vampires than we as REal Estate Professionals already have... hummmm.... Time is calling me....
