Kiplingers has picked the top 3 cosmetic items that buyers hate to see when viewing homes for sale. They are fairly easy things to switch out and sellers should consider replacing these items before listing their home for sale. Do you hate to see these fixtures too?
1. Vanity light strips - these may have been in style 20 years ago but they aren't anymore, the light is harsh and they look cheap.
2. Crystal look faucets - usually acrylic and often covered in soap scum. Opt for a polished metal to upgrade the look.
3. Brass fixtures - again this is an outdated style and this finish screams "builder grade." If nothing else, take the fixture down and use a few cans of Rustoleum Metallic spray paint in Oil Rubbed Bronze on it.
You only get one chance to make a good first impression and details are important!
