Come on out to Old Town La Quinta for a free concert on the lawn this Friday!
The "Heatwave Jazz & Show Band" will perform an exciting free concert on Friday, November 23 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Old Town La Quinta Event Lawn. You won't want to miss the show this dynamic group of young, local musicians puts on!
Sponsored through the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coachella Valley and under he direction of Jim Little, the "Heatwave Jazz & Show Band" fires up a hot mix of music from the old sounds of Count Basie to the upbeat tunes of Black Eyed Peas. They have performed with World-class Artists such as Mark Schulman, Adriana Balic, Jude Crossen, Dr. Thom Mason and many more. The band members' ages range from 13 to 18 years-old, but their sound carries of experienced musicians.
The band's repertoire includes arrangements from the libraries of Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Glen Miller, Tonight Show Band, Ray Charles, Kenny G, Duffy, Booker T and the MG's, Tower of Power, Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Hall & Oates, Natalie Cole and many more!
