Relocate to San Antonio Texas

When I first relocated to San Antonio Texas in 2001, I knew very little about the city other than the fact that the Alamo was located here.  Little did I know that the Alamo was smack in the middle of downtown San Antonio next to the Crockett Hotel that was built in 1909. Another thing I learned about the Alamo was that it is one of five Missions in the surrounding area.  I definitely recommend that you take several hours one day and tour them all.

Other interesting things to do once you Relocate to San Antonio include the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme parks. With the exception of the Tower of the Americas, I’ve visited these great spots several times since coming to one of the 10 largest cities in the United States according to Wikipedia. Of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the obvious that San Antonio is home to the four-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs and the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, which is one of the largest in the country.

A main reason why many Relocate to San Antonio Texas is because they are serving in the Military. Military City USA I think got it’s name due to the strong military presence with four bases Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, and Brooks City-Base located here along with Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley outside the city.

In 2001 Kelly Air Force Base was transferred over to Lackland AFB and the remaining parts of the base became Port San Antonio which is an industrial/business park that is home to several companies including Boeing Aerospace Support Center.

In fact, I’ve met many returning Vets as they Relocate to San Antonio for various reasons including family ties, medical centers, the VA Hospital, climate and even the River Walk has been sited from time-to-time. Whatever the reason, they all need a place to call home and it has always been an honor to serve as their San Antonio Real Estate expert as they begin to call the Alamo City “Home” again.
