Our family has a different Thanksgiving tradition. Ever since our children were very young, we have been serving Thanksgiving dinner at Ascension Catholic Church to the senior citizens of Melbourne that might not otherwise have family to celebrate with.
This year was a wonderful day of serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to well over 200 people. The best part is working together with the same families each year and watching the children take on more responsibility for the event.
The event means so much to our kids because it is the only way they know how to celebrate Thanksgiving. Our best friends who moved away over the summer, traveled back from North Carolina to once again participate and celebrate with us. Now that's tradition!
I hope you all had wonderful day with family or friends to carry on your own traditions for giving thanks!
