Two really fun events are in store this upcoming weekend, and they may be the perfect antidote to the pain of watching Wal-mart shoppers last weekend fist-fighting over Chinese hand towels. (Truly in the holiday spirit :-(
East Liberty's Bakery Square is holding it's 6th Annual "I Made It" Holiday Market starting on Friday, November 30th from 5pm-10pm and continuing all day Saturday, December 1st. Handmade goods from 90+ local artists, including the perfect, one-of-a-kind gifts for all the unique people in your life. On Friday, Bakery Square will be lit Red in honor of World AIDS day. On Saturday, Santa will be on site from 12-3 and the Tapped Pop Up Beer Garden opens at noon. Find out more information here.
If homemade sweets are more your thing then Lawrenceville's Joy of Cookies Tour starts on Thursday night, November 29th and continues through Sunday, December 2nd. Follow the map to visit 26 local shopkeepers and get a taste of their favorite homemade cookies, while checking out all the great gifts, and discounts, they have on store for customers. Or grab a non-cookie bite to eat at one of the fabulous restaurants that Lawrenceville has to offer.
On Saturday, stop at the Cookie Mall at the Teamsters Temple on Butler Street for fun with Santa, crafts, presents and tables of local bakers selling yummy treats, your opportunity to stock up for the holidays.
If you come to the Cookie Mall, be sure to say "Hi", I will be giving away homemade cookies to everyone that stops by to talk about Hatfield+Home, our new 14-home development in Lawrenceville that is just a few blocks away at the corner of Hatfield and Home Streets.
Here is a great opportunity to get out and shop local this weekend and enjoy a bit of the local flavors too!
