Brenda Mullen My Past Real Estate Head Shots for your Amusement
When I got into this business a few years ago, I started off with a professional head shot that I thought looked OK...but really didn't show me off professionally..at least I didn't think so. I just really didn't like the photo. I had done my own hair and make up and really had zero clue about what I was doing. Hey, I was in the Army for 21 years...I didn't have an iota of an inkling of what to do or how to make myself up especially for a professional Real Estate Photo. Anyone remember that Robin Williams movie Moscow on the Hudson where Robbin Williams is standing in front of all the coffee and starts freaking out because there are so many choices? That's what I looked like that day going to Walmart and trying to pick out make up.
So, here is my very first Professional Head Shot...
As I said, I didn't really like it and since I was with Century 21 at the time, I thought hey..why don't I get my photo done with the signature yellow jacket so that I really imbibe the Century 21 feeling?! So I did and this is one of my photos that was done pretty well I thought.
Problem is, is that I didn't stay with Century 21 and when I moved on, all I had was these head shots with me in the yellow jacket. I was able to use them, but I would constantly have to edit out the wording on the jacket and that ended up changing the photo proportions. I also felt that I looked incredibly young in them and some of the shots made me look rather baby like, I thought anyway.
As I moved on through my Real Estate journey and my different Brokerages, I thought it was time to get new pictures. So, I let a fledgling photographer take my photo...again, I did my own hair and make up and although the pictures came out OK..they weren't true head shots. So, needless to say, when I tried to make a business card photo out of them, I apparently added "weight" to myself...
So, when a client contacts me and I meet them in person and they say..."Wow..you really need to get a new business card", "you've lost a ton of weight!" I knew it was time to get some new pictures and a new business card...ASAP.
And this time, my Broker Sheila Moran at RE/MAX Access set up a time for all of us to get new photos..it was beauty day at the office. I had my hair cut and styled by Tim and my make up was done by me, but with a little help from Mary Kay and my photo taken by Nelson Enochs at Lighcatcher Photography, (who also did my business cards) and walla, this is now my new head shot...
I think I will stick with this one a little while...what do you think?
What a difference a professional head shot makes on a business card...dontchya think :)?
