Another Convention Ends...A New Year Ahead

Preparing for the EXIT Convention each year is exciting for me. I look forward to seeing old friends, making new ones, learning from our speakers, and getting the latest updates from our EXIT Approved Suppliers. I should say it surprises me how our corporate leadership pulls off such an amazing Convention year after year, but frankly it does not surprise me at all. I look at all the incredible tools, systems and support EXIT provides us every day at such a high level and I have come to only expect the best. Walking into the main Convention room was unbelievable this year. Typically we have several jumbo projector screens but this year it was something right out of Hollywood; the main screen stretched from one side of the room to the other so there was no bad seat in the house.

I went out of my way this year to have some one on one conversations with our guest speakers and several of our Approved Suppliers. The folks we invite to speak are professionals on stage; many of them travel around the world speaking to every industry group you can imagine, including our own Real Estate Community and our friendly competitors. This year I was on a mission; to find out what they really thought of EXIT and how we compared to other Conventions they have spoken at. Now, if you are a paid speaker, of course you are going to say only positive things about your host company, but I knew I could dig deeper.

If you have ever spoken to a large group, you really need to do some research on that company so you can make personal connections such as mentioning something about their model, culture, or at least remember the name of the company you are speaking to. Nothing could be worse than getting the name of your host company wrong on stage. So I asked a few of them, what did they think of EXIT and our Convention? The responses I got made me proud to say the least. Most of them said it was one of a kind; the people were the most friendly and engaging they have witnessed. And, some of the Approved Suppliers that work with other brands said “EXIT not only serves food, but they serve the best food”. (made me wonder what goes on at our competitors conventions)

I will be the first to say we want all our Associates to experience an EXIT Convention. Newly attending agents can’t believe they waited so long to come, and vow to never miss another one. I see the most successful agents in our industry participating in Real Estate events including their Conventions. I know it’s expensive, but it’s so worth it. I cannot begin to explain the experience of being there nor can we replay the weeks events, there are just too many to remember. But what I can do is make you a challenge; a challenge to make a commitment to yourself, your family, your career and to EXIT, to make it part of your 2013 business plan to join us next October in Washington D.C. Attending our Convention will not only make you a better professional, but it will make you a better person. It reminds us all that we belong to the best Real Estate brand available.
