Your First Year In Real Estate: What To Expect

By
Real Estate Technology with Anywhere Real Estate

As a recruiting director, I speak to many new agents who have absolutely no idea what to expect when they start their real estate career.  There are just too many competing ideas, and frankly there are a lot of brokers who do not share the full story.

As you probably already know, getting past the one year mark is difficult, and frankly unlikely unless you have income or savings to subsidize your new career.  That's the plain truth based on the numbers in most any market.

I ran across this youtube channel of a guy named Karl McIntyre. Karl made the decission to create a video blog of his first year in the business from day on until his one year anniversary.  While Karl's experience may not be common, I think it provides a realistic expectation.

Here's one of the videos in the series; I'd love to hear what you think:

Thanks Laura!  I've actually been in Real Estate over 8 years, but I sure do remember that first one.  Also I work with new agents all the time, and I try to give them a realistic expectation without bursting their bubble if you know whay I mean.

God Bless!
