Holiday Boat Parade-Boynton Beach*Delray Beach Holiday holiday boat paradeEvents

It’s time for the Annual Boynton Beach*Delray Beach Holiday Boat Parade!   We may not have snow or cold winter nights to put us in the holiday spirit but Boynton Beach and Delray Beach has water and boats!

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than a boat parade!

The parade begins at the Intracoastal and Boynton Beach Inlet and travels south to the C-15 Canal in Delray Beach.   There’s public viewing at the Boynton Harbor Marina.

You’ll see anything from  the sailboat staffed with “Tin Soldiers” who fire off their cannon to announce their presence; to the 2-man holiday decorated rowboat; and the party yachts as they cruise the Intracoastal to celebrate the parade.

I first moved to Florida 30 plus years ago to go to college. I remember being a bit homesick and luckily someone invited me to see a boat Parade (in Ft Lauderdale)...it was amazing...and helped me know I was in the right place.

Kathy, I have only ever seen one of these in my life.  But, it was spectacular.  I hope that you enjoy the Boynton Beach Delray Beach Holiday Boat Parade!  (And, maybe you can share some of the highlights in a video?)

BarbaraT- it's sun seeing how everyone decorates their boats.  We used to take our boat out and anchor it to watch from a little cove.  Had to be careful because of a lot of "revelers" out on the water.

Bobbie- it's so much fun.  And usually the weather cooperates!

BARFF- the most fun is being out on the water!  Love it.

Kristin- it seems that as soon as it's Thanksgiving all of the Christmas events pop up!

Scott- What's so crazy is that fo years when we took our boat out I never took any pictures.  I was too busy watching and having fun and at that time, I wasn't blogging.

Jeffrey- new pic!  nice!  I felt the same way.  We moved here more than 25 years ago and I was so homesick for Texas.  But after my first winter here, we kept coming back.  The Ft Lauderdale parade is the big daddy of the parades!

Alexandra- my favorite (and I hope they're still in it) is the big sailboat with the tin soldiers.  The cannon fires and they all fall down.

Suzanne- I would love to if I can!   They really are fun.

Everybody loves a boat parade and we have several of them up and down this coast as well. They are a lot of fun and a wonderful opportunity for fantastic photos.

Hi Kathy.  Toni Weidman also posted about a holiday boat parade.  Clearly you coastal dwellers have an advantage on those of us who are land-locked.  Well, we have a river, the Neuse River. But sometimes even a canoe is challenged to float down it, even undecorated.

Hi Kathy, this looks like so much fun.  I would love to see a holiday parade of boats-the closest I get is July 4 on the Hudson with fireworks but this sounds really special.
