At this time of year there are even more reasons to buy a home in Goodyear AZ. The City of Goodyear does a great job of celebrating the holidays. This Christmas season will start with their annual 'Home Plate for the Holidays" event. It takes place this year on Saturday, December 1st from 5 to 8:30pm at Goodyear Ballpark. Goodyear Ballpark is located off Estrella Parkway, south of Yuma Road.
The kids will enjoy playing in the 40 tons of snow that is brought in for the event. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire engine for the official lighting of the holiday tree. There will be sing a longs with school choirs and bands performing favorite holiday songs. You can also enjoy shopping for holiday gifts on sale by local arts and crafts vendors. It's a great time for the whole family!
Goodyear supports local businesses by holding their 'Shop Goodyear for the Holidays' campaign each year. There are weekly drawings for over $7,000 in prizes including $450 in Westcor and Macy's gift certificates. There are two Grand Prizes, a Pandora Bracelet from Osborne Jewelers and a Scuba course from Inland Water Divers that will be drawn December 21st. All you have to do is staple a receipt of $25 or more for food, services or merchandise from any Goodyear retailer to an entry form and drop it into a 'Shop Goodyear for the Holidays' raffle box. Entry forms are available at www.goodyearaz.gov/shop and at all drop-off locations. Raffle boxes are located at: City Hall (Litchfield & Van Buren), at three Safeway stores in Goodyear including Estrella Parkway & Van Buren, Estrella Parkway & Elliot, and Litchfield & Indian School, and at Fry's Marketplace at Sarival & Yuma. You can enter as many times as you like but you must be at least 18 years old to enter.
