Always get a home inspection. In some cases you may want to get an inspection before putting in an offer to purchase. You Real estate agent will guide you on this if needed. It is worth the money up front and could save you from unseen cost in the future. As a Realtor° this is not my expertise. You want to hire a professional to inspect your possible new home. How do you find an inspector? Search on the ashi website or ask your sales agent or even friends who have bought a home to recommend one. Do not get an inspector that will not climb into an attic or under a crawl space. Problems in these areas will not be known until it is to late and could cost plenty to repair. I personally know of one guy that bought a home and told me the inspector did not go into a crawl space and it turns out damage is in the bathroom floor due to water leaking. This is why I always recommend to each of my buyers a choice of three good ones that I know. In short do not be cheap and look out for your investment.

It is not out of the question to encourage some buyers to perform a property inspection prior to submitting an offer... many investors should do this! But it is not limited to just investors ... it helps out in the negotiation process up front!!
