Minneapolis, the twin sister city of St Paul in the center of the state of Minnesota, is a large Midwest city of around 387,753 people as of the 2010 census, and the 48th largest city in the United States. The area offers the best public parks in Minneapolis with scenic paths by the lakes and small marina and biking and walking trails used by the residents to exercise walk their dog or spend a great afternoon swimming in the lake. The Calhoun area also offers the attraction of the Uptown district with a younger and more dynamic population with great nightlife, shopping, restaurants and theaters. Another area very desirable is Downtown Minneapolis. Most of the Downtown Minneapolis neighborhoods offer a variety of homes from older ones to more modern ones with a wide range of prices. Minneapolis has the great benefit of having a light train system that started to operate in 2004 and has provided transportation for a ridership of more than 24,800 people daily, well over the initial predictions. It connects the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport, the Mall of America, the Metrodome and Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. The Mall of America is a great destination all year round and it has not only four major stores and many smaller ones but a theme park in the middle with many rides for all ages.
