We found Lakeside BBQ completely by accident one day while running errands. We were dying of thirst and it was in the heat of summer and as we drove by the smell of the amazing smell of BBQ filled the car. We had no control, we had to pull into the gas station that had turned into a BBQ Restaurant called Lakeside BBQ. Yes I said that right they cconverted an old gas station into a restaurant.
The hard working ladies of Lakeside BBQ work long hours slow cooking the brisket, ribs and pork creating a smell and a flavor so enjoyable that my kids keep begging to go back for more and proclaim it to be the best barbeque restaurant in east county.
I have a picture of corn, but not the pulled pork sandwiches, they were inhaled immediately.
The Lakeside BBQ decor is Country Kitschy and very casual, after all it used to be a gas station. It is definitely not fine dining, but the food is tasty and well worth the casual atmosphere. The prices are a little high considering the accomodations but barbeque beggars can't be choosers.
The only warning for the restaurant is don't go there on Mondays and Tuesdays they are closed. Now if you have you are in the area on Monday or Tuesday, they do have a great alternative that smells just as good.
Barbeque Tacos
The barbeque tacos are served street style outside like you would find in Mexico. This is our next food adventure we want to try.
Lakeside Barbeque inside or outside is a must try.
