Breathing Optimistically Deep

By
Real Estate Agent

I'm tired of hearing how bad our market is,  sick of hearing about the loss of jobs and closing of plants.  I need some good fresh air,  some encouraging news and I don't believe it's going to come from the news media.

The buyers are looking in our area and from conversation with a couple this morning I believe they recognize that seller's are at about the lowest they are going to go, so it is a great time to buy! Mortgage rates are at a low again and there is fantastic inventory out there.

Brad Andersohn wrote a recent blog with more eloquence then I could ever imagine writing.  I thought you might enjoy his view on the market if you haven't already read it and it's turning around at Has The Market Bottomed Out? - The Crystal Ball Says...

Showing commercial property last weekend, the buyers are looking at high visibility areas to bring in a New York Coney Dog type business. This doesn't sound like fear to me, it sounds like good business sense and anticipation of good times to come.

The phones are ringing and our agents are showing properties,  so that tells me not all buyers are listening to the media hype. There are some fantastic buys out there, and the smart buyers are starting to move knowing they'll get the pick of the best out there.  Brad's,  Action Fixes Everything, in the above mentioned blog is the optimism and the fresh air I'm craving.

So best to all of you out there and breathe positively, optimistically deep!

Sue, It is good to stay optimistic - and the media isn't going to help with that whether its real estate or almost any other topic.  Glad your phone is ringing!

Kay - I'm happy to here your market is doing fine.  Your right buyers do need homes and sellers do need to sell.  Thanks for commenting.

Steve - Thanks for the comment and I hope everyone's phone is ringing!  Not just mine.

Sue, we've been busy all weekend. Even I was out showing condo's in the snow late this afternoon. Two listings appointments tomorrow, negotiating an offer on one of my listings, one buyer agent showing 3 different people this weekend, one showing two and one showing four. I can't keep up. So yes, the market is moving even in January in the snow in Michigan.

Missy - Nice to hear from you,  and definitely happy to hear things are moving in your area of Michigan also.  Out of 4 agents in the office today that I know of 3 showed property this morning and that was just one of our offices,  we have 4 in Gladwin.    We had to jump a few snowbanks but we're very happy to do so. Actually there were quite a few agents in our area from different offices showing property as you passed them you'd wave and see the grateful smiles on everyone's faces.  Thanks for commenting.

This was a great breath of fresh air for me too!  Thanks for sharing Sue, and thanks for the mention too!  It's time for everyone to take a deep breathe, and let's get on our feet and help our buyers find homes! It Is Time!

Great post, and thanks again.  I enjoyed talking to you on the way to the movies tonight.  Rambo was good, but pretty intense for the little guy.  :-)

We definitely need more positive feedback from all of us to try to counteract the negativity from the media.  There are buyers out there and they are moving in our area. I'm ready!

I enjoyed talking to you too and I'm happy to hear your young Brandon is doing so well.  The best to you and yours.
