A wonderful time to be in Sandy Utah

mountain snow in Sandy UT

All of the leaves designed to fall have fallen, and some others too as the wind makes its presence know ~ now mostly from the south

Being outdoors is not uncomfortable, but you might need a coat. It is a different experience: its late fall in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah. Sandy UT along with the other Utah towns is preparing for winter, a signature time in this high altitude desert.

Mountains of the Wasatch Front are receiving night snow so they are prepared for the winter sports that bring the onslaught of visitors, national and international. Our reputation: the Greatest Snow on Earth.

While the mountains gain more snow, on the valley floor we are getting some rain. For visitors, this is rarely an inconvenience – for locals much needed moisture.

Shopping centers are warm and welcoming. They are ready for the Christmas rush and beyond. When I think of shopping, hot chocolate and reading seem to be foremost in my mind. This is the time of the year I get further behind in my reading acquisitions. More to read ~ my year-long challenge.

Christmas lights through Sandy UT give me a reason to venture out in the evenings. The is always something to see and as light and music take over this season.

It's a perfect time to visit us. (In fact, any time is great).

Just remember to pack your hat, coat, gloves, and perhaps, a scarf.

See you soon in Sandy Utah.

Sounds perfectly delightful, Larry. You have painted a beautiful picture of Sandy and your description makes me want to visit - RIGHT NOW. I hope you enjoy the remaining days of fall, Larry, and I look foward to reading about winter in Sandy.

Wayne - thanks. I don't mind some cold, but warming up later is always appreciated.

Julie - This morning I took TRAX into the city before daybreak. Even the lights that were on then were breath taking. Great compensation for the shorter days. A Christmas lunch 26 floors up with hundreds of people, providing spectacular views of the valley and mountains was the highlight of a busy day.

Hi Larry.  Wish I were there! It's been almost 70 degrees lately and I hate it.  It's December -- the north winds should be blowing!  I should be wearing my long winter coat and be bundled up in sweaters and gloves.  Utah sounds wonderful.

Dianne - example of odd weather all over. Your winter fashions are sure to get a run soon. We had a little more rain yesterday with more snow up high, so something is happening correctly. Tricky driving should happen soon enough.
