Anecdotal but interesting 2012 Newnan Georgia holiday shopping news.

Totally anecdotal but interesting 2012 Newnan Georgia holiday shopping news. The 2012 Newnan Georgia holiday shopping season is in full swing and based on my unscientific totally anecdotal experience it’s going to be a good one.

Our real estate office is located in one of those mega shopping centers and already the crowds and traffic are way above 2011 levels.

Perhaps the reason for this is not economically based at all. It is entirely possible that the glorious warm weather we have been experiencing. Mild winters are one of the resons that many people chose to live in Coweta County in the first place.

But I haven’t heard many say that they are cutting back or curtailing their shopping this year. From all that I have seen it is “all systems go!”

I wonder how other areas are doing this year?

I don't work near where anyone shops, but every time I go out I see lots of folks shopping... and I can say without doubt that I have spent more than I personally did last year.

Tammy...

Well if I can get a significant sample to admit that, my results will no longer be anecdotal. Lol and THANKS!

Good morning Richard -

We've been done with Christmas buying since last summer in fact the delivered and hid the gifts on our trip to Alabama the first of October.  Saves us from having to pack and ship in December.  We kept it down to a mild roar this year.  We have explained to the grand-kids that on Christmas morning it's more than about what's under the tree but about a baby that was born to one day save us from ourselves. According to the local news all systems are go for shoppers in our area.

Hi Richard - the lights are green and most everyone is off to shopping in the Inland Empire. Roads, freeways, stores are more congested than usual. I am certain most stores will be in the black this season.

I see the same.. people are tired of trying to make ends meet.. so they get out and spend too much... at least for the holidays. Parking lots are full of shoppers.. but EVERYONE wants a bargain.. or they leave.
