We recently visited Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We rented a log cabin in the mountains and loved it. During our visit, we were convinced to attend a free breakfast and 90 minute presentation on time shares at Westgate in Gatlinburg. (It ended up being a 180 minute presentation). We were given $90 to go listen and we were curious as to how people sell in the United States.
We were shocked at the number of people who bought into this! It just didn't make sense to us but we don't vacation like most other people. We like to be away from the crowds and any sort of "resort" is just not our style. But to buy something like that after an hour presentation...seems so crazy!
Is it really this popular in the United States to buy time shares? Are we missing something important here??? We just didn't GET it!! I guess here in Canada we look at things differently....
