We've run a few rounds of Blogging Boot Camp. On Thursday when we kick off, it will be our fourth run through the series. This time we're going to upgrade the content. Out of the rotation will be the first 'how to create a blog post' class where we looked at the mechanics of creating a visually compelling blog post (this class will now be bi-weekly and you can sign up by checking the ARU calendar. We'll be replacing that class with a class about how to go about selecting keyword phrases. We'll also take our link class and change it up a little bit, instead talking about some of the other calls to action we can use in our blog posts to drive action and possibly generate leads for our business.
These are fundamental concepts that you need to understand in order to make your blog a source of lead generation for your business. We have the original set of Boot Camp classes recorded and available for you to watch here.
Over the next three weeks we are going to take you through a new series of classes. The most important class in Boot Camp, in my opinion, has always been the SEO Class. In this class we teach you how to write a blog post that ranks on the first page of the search engines. We'll still have that class. But we'll mix up the other two classes a little bit and bring in some expanded discussion on calls to action, as well as have an entire class focused on selecting keyword phrases and how to determine want to write about.

Class 1: SEO, Getting Your Content to Rank on the First page

In this class I'll show you how to get your posts to rank on the first page of the search engines. We'll talk about the fundamentals of a good strong post in terms of SEO and we'll also talk about what kind of things are the most effective for you to write about in order to make sure you land on that first page. We'll also show you a few secrets about what people search for as they get closer to buying. It will be no time before you have a post with thousands of clicks from potential buyers.
Class 2: Understanding Keyword Phrases and Unlocking Their Secrets
Thursday December 13th, 9am Pacific Time (12pm Eastern Time)
In class one we teach you how to get your content to rank in the search engines. But how do you figure out what you are going to write about? This second class shows you some of the ways people search for content online and we dive into the concepts around how we should think about keyword phrases and some of the ways we should target people doing searches online. As a special bonus we give you the chance to download a PDF with 500 keyword phrases that have been searched in the last 30 days. Some simple tweaks for your market and you have enough blog ideas to keep you buys for months.
Class 3: Creating Effective Calls to Action
Thursday December 20th, 9am Pacific Time (12pm Eastern Time)
This class used to be all about links. And sure we'll still hammer down on links, but we will also discuss some of the other ways that you can get the people reading your blog to take action. At the end of the day, our blog should be all about generating leads and contacts for our business. This class will show you how to most effectively create these calls to action in your blog posts.
