Most of us in the sales profession were shocked last week (November 28, 2012) to learn that a motivaional hero, and one of the world's most preeminent anecdotalists passed away at the age of 86 after battling Pneumonia.
As a young man trying to make his way in this profession, I became discouraged and was about to give up altogether. A fellow salesperson suggested that I purchase some sales and motivation instructional recordings and listen to them in my car as I was driving to my sales calls. Supposing I had nothing to loose, I set it in my mind to do so.
The next morning I stopped at my local bookstore, and after quickly reviewing the popular offerings, I selected the audio version of Zig Ziglar's "Secrets of Closing the Sale." While I must report that I eventually Quit that particular sales job, Zig ignited a passion in me for the sales profession itself, and for reading and listening to the experts. I went on to have a successful career selling automobiles and then Real Estate. I now recruit and train other agents and teach many of the same techniques Zig taught me
I will always be indebted to Mr. Ziglar for the profound affect he had on my life. I'd like to share this video with you as a tribute to him.
