Five Reasons Why You Should Sell Your Stamford CT 06902 Home

You might ask, "Why should I sell my Stamford CT 06903 home during the holidays?". Some homeowners think that homes don't sell during the holidays. Many think that they don't want to be bothered with the "Lookey-Lous/Lisas". Some homeowners think that Realtors don't work during the holidays, taking winter vacations.....well, those thoughts are "wrong". Here are five reasons why this holiday season is the best time to move forward and list your home for sale.

1. Only the most serious buyers are out looking at properties. Consider that December and January are the prime months for relocating personnel. During these two months, the trailing spouse and the children are available, on vacation and out of school ready to pick out their new home together. Everyone is able to contribute their opinion on the different properties and they are usually in town shopping just for a few days. So their limited time will be spent with their Realtor showing the best homes, those that sparkle. Think about it, only the serious buyers are out now. The Looky-Lou's and Lisa's are spending time with their families and/or doing last minute holiday shopping.

I once worked with a couple who relocated from another country and they had 5 days to find a home during a holiday weekend. We found it in 48 hours and completed negotiations before they landed the plane on the return trip. Click here for their story.

2. The competition is "sleeping", take advantage of this time. Ok maybe not sleeping, but other Sellers may be thinking that no one will come to their home or maybe they don't want to be bothered with the intrusions during the holidays. And so these homeowners will wait until the beginning of the year or maybe the Spring time. This is a common thought. The housing supply dramatically decreases during the holidays. So here's a question for you, would you rather be one of a few homes on the market or wait until the new year and/or the Spring when most homes return to the market and your property is one in the masses of other homes?  Right! You want to be the one in the few.

3. The banks are less busy and so the loan process will be faster. Whether the banks are working on purchases or refi's the number of such transactions is less during the holidays. Again, let's be part of the select few and get all of the attention in the market.

4. This is the best time to 'move-up'- if you are thinking about moving into a larger home. The best time to do it is during the holidays.  Right now prices and interest rates are so very low, let's strike while the iron is hot. There is no guarantee that the rates will stay this low in the future. Take advantage of them now!

5. It's easier to sell a shiny apple than a bruised one- During the holidays as you prepare for entertaining and the lights are up and the fireplace is going.....hmmm I can smell the cookies baking, your house looks and feels great. This is putting your best foot forward and making the best first impression. Is there a better time for homebuyers to view your home?

6. (ok I said 5, but it's a Bonus ) What is your motivation? Remember there is a reason you're thinking about selling. Whether it is to be with family, or there's a loss in income, you're expecting an addition to the family, it's about you and your timeline. Your time is valuable, so let's make the most of it and get your property sold so you can move to the next chapter of your life. The first step is to schedule a brief consultation with me so I can give you an overview of the current real estate market and provide a property value for your home.
