2012's Event Was Held Saturday, December 1st
What a fun event the 10th Annual Cave Creek Luminaria Run was! It was my first time participating. I decided to walk 
the route with my girlfriend and take photos so I could include them in this post, therefore my stellar race time and 396th placing in the 5K race. About 600 people participated in the four different events - the Little Kids 50 Meter Desert Dash, the Big Kids 100 Meter Desert Dash, the 5K run, and the 1-Mile Run Run/Walk. The bright yellow shirts for participants with the $25 advance entry fee were a big hit - easy for cars to spot in the dark!

The Cave Creek Luminaria Run started at the Cave Creek Rodeo Grounds at 28th St. and Cloud Rd., just west of the Cave Creek Recreation area. the evening was beautiful - in the high 60's! Starting at dusk, the mountain and sunset views were unbelievable!

The race is an out-and back course that starts and finishes at the Cave Creek Rodeo Grounds.
The rodeo grounds are located at 37201 North 28th Street, Cave Creek, Arizona.
NOTE: Please take Carefree Highway to 24th Street. Go north on 24th Street to Maddock (just north of Cloud). Turn right on Maddock and you will drive straight into the rodeo grounds. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE DRIVEWAY. There is ample parking in the parking lot and the entrance to the staging area is on the southeast side of the rodeo grounds.
