The 51st Annual Kemah Boat Lane Parade will be held this Saturday (December 8th) at 6:00pm! This event is a local favorite so you should add it to your calendar if you haven’t had the opportunity to experience it yet. Boat owners decorate their boats with light displays that are amazing and some even have coordinated light shows. These boats are really beautiful and are a definite must-see! A few toss Mardi Gras beads and other treats from the deck. The parade reaches the Kemah Boardwalk area at about 7:00pm. This annual event brings many visitors (around 100,000) so get your spot early so you don’t miss the fun! It is really crowded, but worth a wait. The decorations are really incredible with some owners creating floating works of art!
Attendance is free, but be prepared to pay to park unless you are ready to walk a long distance. Better yet, get there very early and enjoy supper at one of the restaurants on the boardwalk! You can also view the parade across from the Kemah Boardwalk. Just head under the bridge towards the seafood markets and you can set chairs up in one of the empty lots at the end. Have fun in whatever way you choose to view the parade.
