It's All About Passion...Western Colorado Artist June Estep. For most of us our work is our passion, so we can relate to how Western Colorado Artist, June Estep, approaches everyday. June calls the little town of Olathe, in Montrose County, her home.
I first met June Estep about four years ago when she decorated the windows of our real estate office. They came out beautifully and really got us all in the holiday spirit. Since that day, I've noticed June's work up and down the Western Slope.
June remembers back to the days when she started drawing with pencils and broken crayons. Her drawing and painting passion has been with her for as long as she can remember. June never had any intention of making a career out of her passion. About 15 years ago, a persistent person in her life got her to go public. Her artistic endeavors were something that were private to her. By keeping her talent to herself, no one had to see the mistakes, but when you are painting in public...the mistakes are there for everyone to see.
I think June is being too hard on herself. I wouldn't know her mistakes. It all looks good to me. June told me if she goes a day without a brush in her hand, it's a rare day. Now that's passion.
June has branched out into teaching art classes. She also has her custom painted glassware in several stores up and down the Western Slope. Her talents range from the window painting you see her doing in the picture, to custom artistic wall painting, indoor and outdoor murals and photo to art portraits. The list goes on. June is very talented and is using her ability to express herself in many different ways. Remember It's All About Passion... For Western Colorado Artist June Estep.
