Upper Marlboro MD Real Estate: Where Should I Purchase?

In the world of real estate, location is a key factor.  When meeting with buyers, the notion of location tends to be a must have.  Therefore, buyers usually have a good sense of where they want to live.

As a buyer's agent, I have worked with many buyers.  There are those buyers who are set on what they want, and there are those buyers who are not.  For those buyers who are adamant about where they want to live, I always remind them to approach location with an open mind.  Many times buyers miss out on great properties when they refuse to at least check out other locations.

All buyers have their specific reasons for why they chose to live in one place over the other.  Of course, that's perfectly okay.  I remember working with buyer who wanted to move in the heart of Washington, DC.  The client wanted a nice condo with modern amenities.  As I searched for properties, I discovered that prices where not meeting my buyer's budget.  Townhomes, rowhomes, and single family homes were definitely out of the question.

As I continued to search for homes for sale in Washington, DC, I located a brand new multicondo unit building.  This property took the buyer away from his preferred area into a new location of the city.  When we viewed the condo, the buyer was like a kid in a toy store.  As a real estate agent, I couldn't believe the seller had priced the listings at such affordable prices.  Considering the size, amenities, and price of the condo, a sales offer was a no brainer.  My buyer was getting everything he wanted in a condo.  Most importantly, he was getting it at a considerably lower price.

I say, don't count your chickens before the hatch.  Bascially, don't discount a location because of what you think you know.  Go and check out the community and maybe you will find a home for sale that excites you.  If you don't, there's nothing lost.  If you do, you just might forget about where you first wanted to purchase home.
