A very fun part of celebrating Ski Season in the Pocono Mountains is the Pocono Favorite Winter Carnival at Big Bear on Masthope Mountain in Pike County. All kinds of winter fun is to be had! Hit the snow for a fun day filled with ski races, big air competition, rail jams, an all day scavenger hunt and lunch tray races. Head to the rental shop for a free wax and sharpen; or visit the lodge for raffles, live entertainment, and more. This event is still quite awhile away taking place on January 27th, 2013, but it is not too far away to start planning to attend this Winter Time Favorite in the Pocono Mountains!

That's quite alright at Shawnee Mountain & Resort because recurring daily through the entire month of January, Shawnee Mountain is offering you the chance to learn how to Ski and Snowboard! Shawnee Mountain is pleased to announce its participation in this nationwide effort to get people outside and enjoying winter activities. Shawnee Mountain encourages those new to snowsports to take a lesson and for those who are experienced to bring a friend or the family.
